The Good Person

Sound Designer/Composer/Music Director/Actor
Project Overview
An online adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's The Good Person of Szechwan, directed by Christie Zhao. The entire show takes place in a fictional environment and was recorded during the pandemic in individual actors' homes, but was pieced together to look as if the actors were in the same space.
Music
I played multiple roles for this show, both on and offscreen!
As sound designer, I designed all the sound effects and mixed all the actors' voices to sound as legible and high quality as possible.
As composer and music director, I wrote all music used in the show, including eight songs with lyrics from the original script. I also worked with actors to record their individual songs, as well as arranged and mixed each song.
I also played the role of the Unemployed/Policeman.
Below is a clip of perhaps the most complicated song in The Good Person. I wrote music to the lyrics provided in the script and arranged the song, and our cast (including me!) learned choreography (by Karlie Chen, our choreographer) and recorded in sync in order to create this video.
